"Technology is here to stay but when it's getting in your way,
have yourself a no cell phone day!"
Have you heard of the National Day of Unplugging? It happened March 7-8, 2014? Well, Delfeayo Marsalis the professional Jazz Trombonist and music producer has written a beautifully illustrated children's picture book that helps carry out this message even though it is not related to the holiday.
Here's how the story begins... Six year old Jazmine wants to give her daddy the best birthday present ever so she and her mommy sit down and write a To Do List for his birthday which prevents the use of his cell phone for one full day. Dad agrees and loves his birthday present because he get to spend a full day without interruptions with his favorite little girl. They have a great day visiting places throughout New Orleans. They spend quality time and it becomes the Greatest Day Ever!
