    My Thoughts

'Tis the season to be jolly, Fa la la la la la la la la la... I am getting into the spirit. Are you ready to celebrate Christmas? Well, one way that  can help is to pull out the holiday videos and check the cable lineup for the upcoming holiday movies. And, you could always add new ones that are family fun and safe for all Lil' eyes and ears to hear and watch. I have a suggestion! Check out Scholastic Storybook Treasures Merry Christmas, Splat ... and more winter stories on DVD. (Ages 3 -7)

Merry Christmas Splat ... and more winter stories has four wonderful stories for the whole family to enjoy this holiday season. The featured story is Merry Christmas, Splat which is written and illustrated by Rob Scotton. John Keating is the narrator and he does a great job. This is a sweet story about a cat named Splat. He works overtime trying to be good so he won't miss out on getting presents for Christmas. Maybe one of your little one can related with Splat?  The other three stories are just as entertaining and offer good clean holiday humor.

Who is Snowflake Bentley? Where did he live? Why is he important? You can learn the answers to all these questions and more when you watch Snowflake Bentley by Jaqueline Briggs Martin, illustrated by Mary Azarain and voice artist Sean Astin(Samwise Gamgee from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy).

Fletcher and the Snowflake Christmas by Julie Rawlinson and Owl Moon by Jane Yolen are the remaining two stories from this DVD collection. You will find this holiday DVD filled with  humorous fun, educational and enriching for the whole family. This DVD includes the read-along feature and behind the scenes look at creating Fletcher and the Snowflake Christmas. Enjoy!

    Happy Holidays,
